Just a few friendly reminders...

IF YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOS FROM OUR COOKING SESSIONS, PLEASE EMAIL THEM TO ME ASAP AND I CAN SEND THEM ALONG TO YEARBOOK!! Email them to my gmail account please.


IF YOU HAVE YET TO PRESENT YOUR EXPRESSION / SEMINAR / WORD OF THE DAY :
Please email me your work as well as a recorded file of your voice from your phone (or during the library time given next week while we are doing your speaking exams you can do this on the microphones). They will be accepted until Friday May 31 at the end of the school day.

All outstanding work will be accepted until that day, May 31, unless otherwise instructed.

REMEMBER THAT YOUR SPEAKING EXAMS ARE NEXT WEEK.

Here are your instructions for today.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY PHOTOS FROM OUR COOKING LABS (or from anything else we have done in class), PLEASE EMAIL THEM TO MY GMAIL ACCOUNT SO THAT I CAN PASS THEM ALONG TO YEARBOOK!!! Gracias =)

Per 1
LWS CU1 -  You may work out in the hall to rehearse and to record your projects. I took a look and made a few notes on your projects (they are on the desk that is to the left of mine, in the corner). As long as you have met the requirements on your evaluation sheet, no changes are necessary, but keep in mind the notes I've written for exam time. Please send your phone recordings of your work to my gmail account by the end of the class today.
There is additional work for you to get started on (a new concept) that the teacher will have if you are finished and ready to move forward.

LWS BD1 - You may continue working on your exam questions and enjoy the film that I have left for you to explain more about the Mayans.  I will be able to answer questions about your exam questions on Wednesday or on Thursday of this week only, so please be prepared, and ask questions when you can!

FSF 1D - I have two videos for you to watch, and one you will fill in the blanks for as a listening activity.

Watch your first video here - WATCH A FEW TIMES PLEASE   - Fill in the blanks with the appropriate words, lots of them are reflexive pronouns, and words you are familiar with.

Here is the video that you can watch to check your answers  - Watch only after please.

Here is another song we will analyse tomorrow. Listen and see what you understand today and we will discuss tomorrow!

For the rest of class, you will work on your handouts from yesterday. They need to be finished for tomorrow. Be sure you use your PRESENT TENSE notes to conjugate the reflexive verbs we learned yesterday.

J'espere que c'etait une bonne journee!

Alors, il faut lire jusqu'a la page 138 et repondre aux questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 sur page 139. IL FAUT LIRE CES QUESTIONS EN AVANCE D'ETRE PRET(E)(S) A LES REPONDRE.
... et travailler en groupe si c'est plus efficace!!!

Ca pourrait une bonne idee de diviser les chapitres qui ne sont pas encore lus et de partager les intrigues avant de commencer les questions (que vous pouvez aussi partager d'etre certains qu'ils sont completes pour demain).

FEF 4U instructions

FEF 4U

Bonjour classe!

 Aujourd'hui, vous allez faire trois choses.

1. Ecoutez et regardez les videos et remplissez les tirets sur votre feuille je le supplémentaire vous donne. Repondez aux questions en écrivant au verso.
HAND IT IN avant que la classe termine aujourd'hui.  Mitchell, stp, tu es le maitre du SMARTboard aujourd'hui.

Les Mis - Rouge et Noir #1  - Qui est plus claire, à mon avis

Les Mis - Rouge et Noir  - Qui vient d'une troupe française qui joue Les Mis

2. Completez le quiz du faire causatif qui est au-dessus sur le blog si vous n'avez pas encore fait comme devoirs (travaillez comme une classe, svp).

3. Lisez en haut voix avec 2 ou 3 personnes jusqu'à la page 124. Vous lirez jusqu'à ce point pour les devoirs si vous ne finissez pas en classe. Aidez les uns et les autres à comprendre ce qui se passait (N'OUBLIEZ PAS DE CONTINUER DE PENSER DE VOS THEMES POUR VOTRE TACHE ORALE FINALE DE CE ROMAN- ajoutez des notes si vous pouvez lorque vous lisez)

ET PUIS, AYEZ UNE BONNE JOURNEE!!!  =)

FSF 1D-  Passé composé test FRIDAY MAY 10
Don't forget, and please remember it is on all parts of passé composé that we have been practising. You will also have a listening component to this test.
Be prepared to look at pictures and identify them in P.C., know the p.p.s of verbs (and irregular avoir verbs... those rhyming ones) and decide whether or not you would use P.C. in a sentence and how it would be used (like your activities today).
Your written fairy tale will be handed in at the beginning of class tomorrow for a written mark out of ten as well.

For example, let's set a scene:



•Eran las nueve de la noche. Era viernes. Hacía mal tiempo. Llovía. Todos estábamos en casa. Mamá y Papá miraban la televisión; yo leía una novela de StarTrek; mi hermana hablaba por teléfono con su novio en su cuarto. Esnupi (nuestro perro) dormía detrás del sillón en la sala.



•It was 9:00 at night. It was Friday. It was bad weather. It was raining. We were all at home. Mom and Dad were watching television; I was reading a StarTrek novel; my sister was talking on the phone with her boyfriend in her room. Esnupi (our dog) was sleeping behind the armchair in the living room.



This has all been written in the Imperfect.


But now let's get to the action:





•De repente, ¡Entró un ladrón! Pasó por la escalera y caminó hasta la recámara de mis padres. Miró en el cuarto cuando oyó la voz de mi hermana. Se volvió y bajó las escaleras. Trató de huir de la casa, pero Esnupi se despertó y mordió la pierna del ladrón.



•Suddenly, a robber entered! He went upstairs and walked down to my parent's bedroom. He looked in the room but then he heard my sister's voice. He turned and went down the stairs. He tried to flee the house, but Esnupi woke up and bit the robber's leg.


This is a series of actions in the Preterite which happened within the setting established by the Imperfect.

The focus of the Preterite is on completed action(s). The Imperfect focuses on a state of being.

Let's look at some examples:

(description, scene)

Comí la cena. Comía la cena...


I ate my dinner (and I finished it) I was eating my dinner...[when something happened]

-or- I used to eat my dinner...

Tuvo que devolver la camisa Tenía que devolver la camisa

She had to -and did- return the shirt. She had to return the shirt (She was supposed to return it - but we don't know if she did or not.)
