les instructions pour le 27 février

Bonjour!!

FSF 1P - Lab day! Instructions are all on elearning. Family vocabulary and music to discover all class!

FEF 1D - Lab day! Instructions are all on elearning. Les verbes réfléchis and a music video task!

FSF 3U / 4U -   Bonjour!

Please take 10-15 minutes to have the MOST  in-depth conversation possible en français (about your weekend, or wherever your words take you!).

Puis, you have 2 readings and questions to prepare for tomorrow. They are all about publicité et les stéréotypes. Be sure to use your vocabulary sheets and the word banks to better understand the readings.
Click here to see the article online and PLEASE WATCH THE PUBLICITÉ that caused all the commotion - they choose to show sous-titrés / subtitles because ORANGE is trying to convey that they are able to understand any Québecois dialect that they come across in their store!

*****Due to technical difficulties this morning, you have no handouts. My apologies!! Désolée!  I put the word bank, reading and questions on elearning for the link above. Please access them as best you can and discuss the questions. Please have at least the newspaper article read amd ready to discuss tomorrow! And I JUST MET YOUR PEN PALS! I have une surprise pour vous demain!

At the end if you wish, you can spend the last 15 minutes of class on your language log (you start recording your exposure to French this week!). I have created a list of ideas for you to be dedicating your time to this week;

- Duolingo
Study stack - choose what you would like to practice vocal-wise
- a goal: be able to name 10 new products from your washroom or your fridge by the end of the week
- watch a hockey match or a tv show en français
- NRG is a great French radio station you can stream - google it and you can choose what region of France you'd like to imagine being in while streaming online!
- les proverbes en français - read and try to figure out what they mean

Bonne journée et à demain!

ET... Last but not least...
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our forum. I will be printing them out tomorrow!!

les instructions pour le 24 février

Bonjour!

Happy vendredi, tout le monde!
Please read through all instructions carefully! Je vous souhaite un bon weekend!

FSF 1P - Today, you will spend about twenty minutes working on preparing for your family tree.
Once you have worked well for twenty minutes, you may watch the film.

#1. For the first activity, please fill in the blanks describing a title you would give to each family member. How are they related to Nicolas? Fill in the blanks.  Use your resources that will be handed back to you for help. Click here for a photo to see that will also help.

You can click here to see the website to check your answers.

#2. You will begin your rough copy of your family tree. The teacher has your sheets to write on. Fictional or non-fictional, you will create a family tree. Your goal today is to describe at least five people. Show their relationships to one another in a format that you saw yesterday (with lines between and down from other members)

Click here to see some exemplars (scroll down for the best exemplar - la Famille Simpson)

#3. Please place your work in your binder and then you may watch the film. Please remember that you have an activity to complete about the film also! If you finish the film, please work on that activity.
Have a nice weekend!

FEF 1D -
Bonjour!     Voici les instructions pour aujourd'hui.

#1.  You have a choice to voice your opinion with your teacher, and please vote (I suggest by raising your hand with your eyes closed / head down)

You have a journal to write that was meant to be started for half the period and then you can enjoy the film.

Please vote on whether you would like to complete and hand in your journals today (all journals must be handed in at the end of the period)   OR if you would like to work on the journals for half the period and then watch the film.

Whatever you choose, please enjoy the day, and be sure to demonstrate your best work (and work ethic) and don't be afraid to take risks in your writing. Be sure to read through your marking scheme to see what you will be marked on. Challenge yourself to use different verbs, irregular verbs and new words (and adjectives).

#2. If you choose to complete your journals at home, please make sure that you hand them in on Monday.

FOR YOUR JOURNALS;

      You will write about le passé en répondant aux questions suivantes (all of some of them);

*Quelles accomplissements est-ce que tu (et les membres de ta famille) as fait dont  (of which) tu es le plus fier / fière?

*Où est-ce que tu as visité? As-tu aimé tes voyages? Avec qui est-ce que tu es allé (e) à ces destinations?

* Décrivez une chose que tu as fait qui est inoubliable.

BE SURE YOU HAVE WRITTEN AT LEAST 20 SENTENCES, and apply (using your notes) your knowledge of all the different forms of passé composé. Soyez créatifs!!

Bonne journée et bon weekend!

FSF 3U / 4U -

Bonjour!

Please take approximately 10 minutes to study very quietly. If in this time you are looking for something else to do other than study, please be sure you have prepared your envelope ( there are some on left side near the exemplar) or access learning silently on your phones to read the posts that you haven't yet read. Please read over your letters and remember the feedback I gave you (some have feedback on a sticky; avoid errors we talked about on your quiz today).

Once you have received your quiz, be sure to read through it very thoroughly before starting. Notice that there are 10 verbs conjugations to match and there are more options so be sure to read through each one carefully.   I have tried to make things as straight forward as possible for you, so please

After handing in your quiz, take the rest of the time to read through posts on learning (even pull them up on the whiteboard if you'd like).  THIS WEEKEND, I would like you to post two new threads and comment on two posts (and don't be afraid to post more... it's good practice and it will be part of your portfolio!) In total by Monday, I would like to see at least THREE THREAD POSTS and THREE REPLIES by each of you! Tell me your thoughts and try to incorporate our new vocab!

Please hand in your letters (and place them in their appropriate envelopes - in the green basket on my desk- if you are ready - if they are not ready, please have them ready for Monday!)

Je vous souhaite une bon weekend!!

-Mme

le deuxième post pour le 22 février

Bonjour tout le monde!

I just would like to let all students and supporters know that I am directing everyone to our elearning site more regularly than the blog this semester for the time being. Students will be able to use many tools that I will post there for reinforcement of concepts and for reference. This blog will be updated weekly (or more often during the week if needed to post due dates) and as we settle into the semester, I will post daily once again in the future.

Merci!!

FSF 1P - Instructions for today

Bonjour! Today you will be watching Les Choristes!

1. Let's begin with some rebus puzzles! Click here to access them!
Scroll down and try to answer 4 (after the box photo rebus puzzle if you want a starting point - there are so many!)

2. Please take 5 - 10 minutes to read through the Vrai / Faux   questions on the back to understand what you are listening and reading for while you enjoy the film. We have already discussed what you are to do with the chart on the front, and please read instructions at the top if you need a reminder.

3. Before watching the film, be sure to remember that watching a film is a privilege. If you appreciate and enjoy this movie (and avoid distractions during the movie), there will be more in your future in this class. Please act appropriately.

4. You will watch the film with English subtitles. Enjoy et à remain!

FEF 1D - We have been reviewing the passé composé. There will be many links to help on elearning, as well as an easy visual organizer of the rules we have been applying and practicing in many different ways. Remember that our first journals are done in class on Friday, and our good copies of our egoportraits are due Thursday.

FSF 3U / 4U - Please check elearning for your quiz outline that will be on Friday. Also, you will find more on our publicité unit and soon, our language lab ideas.

jeudi le 9 février

FSF 1P - Today, students learned how to describe what they like and don't like. We played SIMON DIT to see what actions we already know and we have been asking others what they like to do as well. We wrote some sentences down about our likes and dislikes and compared them with others in a Venn diagram. Here is the video - Qu'est-ce que tu veux faire?

FEF 1D - Today, students started with the easiest Kahoot they will play all year. They were very successful! We completed their Quelle heure est-il activité and now have 12 different speaking partners for the semester. We read and completed expressions about love and attempted to make inferences and give examples to them. We listened to Jenifer's Je dance and tried our first listening activity. Tomorrow we will talk about la musique encore et we will do a simple writing activity for marks at the end of class.   voici le vidéo de Jenifer - Je danse

We asked one another to be speaking partners for our 'horlages', we deciphered a chorus of a song, we began a discussion about love and talked about one of our final activities for marks this semester : presenting a proverbe.
Students were given a sheet about their personalité for review. They are to pick the top three traits and then explain two of them to Mme for marks tomorrow.
Ex.

Here is your marking scheme  pour ta première note de communication orale:     ( / 15 notes)

FSF 1P - Today we are completing our diagnostic assessment. We are also going to complete some activities to be sure that we can greet and ask basic questions well for our FIRST SPEAKING TASK ON FRIDAY! We also listening ed ZAZ ☺

FEF 1D - Today, we are going to continue getting into the habit of speaking in French with others. We are a quiet class and we will be speaking to better reinforce and rehearse what we are learning (because  we will use French in the real world mostly by speaking!). Students are describing things that are happening in their life, describing a story, and producing info en français by using the present tense. They are also compiling a number of different ways that they can expose themselves to more French and thinking about their 'language log' and how they will use it.
They will be creating their own personal goals and sharing them with Mme and as a class we will create our classroom BUTS (goals). First in class writing task for marks is on FRIDAY!

Here are some links to help with the present tense review we are doing in class.

Click here for a note - an excellent and thorough note   There is a cute video to show it's application as well!

FSF 3U FSF 4U - Today, students will be playing 'menteur' games by recounting things that have happened in their past and, using the Harkness method (which they will use for their final spoken demonstration / speaking exam) to speak with others in the class. Friday will be their first evaluation - a speaking one!

mardi, le 7 février

Welcome to semester 2  !   Bienvenue au deuxième semestre!!

Here is where you can see what we are up to each day, to become aware of upcoming due dates, to access additional resources, and to see complimentary videos and media related to what we are doing in class.

Bienvenue!! Welcome! I am happy to be sharing this semester with you!

FSF 1P - First day yesterday went well. We made some observations about the class, we started on our questionnaire, we became aware (and made up good and bad examples) of our classroom code of conduct and we are already becoming very organizé!!  ☺ Bravo! Students now have a calendar to help keep them aware of tasks - please feel free to use it for other classes, too!

TODAY WE ARE GOING TO START TALKING !! Students are becoming more familiar with the class and their surroundings through activities, their questionnaires are being finished AND OUR FIRST SPEAKING TASK FOR MARKS IS ON FRIDAY!!

FEF 1D -  Students began speaking straight away yesterday. Isn't that the point of FEF? To be able to communicate in French to earn a great job?!

They will have 100 Euros at the end of the semester that hopefully they will keep all semester. Speaking in English results in EUROS PERDUS - lost euros. Mme va les tirer!! This is to promote communication so that students can experience a fully immersed classroom, and are encouraged to always speak in French.

Students had a questionnaire to complete and we discussed how marks will be earned.

Today we are focusing on speaking, using the present tense properly to describe AND THERE WILL BE A WRITTEN EVALUATED TASK on FRIDAY - vendredi.

FSF 3U / 4U -
